Upfronts, you guys

I went to New York this past week nominally to promote the new season of the show I work on. But basically I was there hemorrhaging savings on cool things I totally don't need.

Also, I met and chatted with the painfully cute Zach Gilford who plays stoic hottie Matt Saracen on "Friday Night Lights". But that is neither here nor there.

Where to begin?

Well, the best accessory for the week was author/journalist/musician Ben Nugent.

Super cute, right??? This picture is his avatar off the pedophile chat room where I met him.

An INCREDIBLY close second was this Anya Hindmarch Marlie bag. Soft, blingy, and a great alternative to the white-and-gold look that has been ubiquitous this season.

The white is gorgeous too, but if you're a filthy mess of a person, and you hurl your bag around and put it on the floor, like I do, you should totally go with the khaki color. It's classy and the big gold chain makes it a tiny bit crass-y, which is a look I totally fucking love.

Kind of Beyonce-as-Jackie O. God, I love it so much. Maybe it was better than Ben. I don't know. You decide.

Price:
Marlie bag: $995 at net-a-porter.com
Ben: $8 or the price of a Jameson straight in a tumbler

2. Crushed Berry Mojito, Kittichai

Jocelyn graduated from Business School and I was lucky enough to be invited to her graduation supper at Kittichai. Kittichai, the best Thai food restaurant in New York, happens to be one of the aggressively sexiest restaurants in New York. It was like being in a Thai sex prison but the food is great and everyone is hot, and no one is miserable (I guess only the bamboo walls and the scary dark lighting is sex prisony.)

The food you'll have to check out yourself, but I had the best fucking mojito in my life here. Having drunk far too much the previous night, I swore I would only have one drink, and that it would be a dense sweet drink with negligible alcohol. This mixed berry mojito proved to be the trick.

Brimming with crushed mint, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, this drink was like a delicious bitter fruit salad with a healthy dose of light rum. And the ice kept melting and forming second drink. After the ice was all gone, there was still good yummy fruit debris to be eaten. What a fantastic summer drink experience. And it should be, it was like $14.

Note: this is a great place to go drinking with girlfriends. There were an inordinate number of tables of hot-looking girls in their 20s and 30s in backless dresses and sandals laughing loudly and talking about raunchy things.

Kittichai: 60 Thompson Street New York, NY (212)-219-2000

3. Cynthia Rowley mod dress.

For the actual NBC upfronts, I went mod. I usuallly can't pull off mod. It takes a lot of time and commitment to the look and a lot of times people can look like clowns. But I had time this upfronts and Cynthia Rowley lent me this amazing little fuschia dress.

It is the most comfortable, fun dress ever. Shaped like a grape, it flatters everyone. And you can dance in it! I did, in fact. God, I am such a fucking good dancer. Ask anyone. It's sick.

Dress: $385 at Cynthia Rowley
76 Bleecker Street; 212-242-3803

My awesome hair and makeup was done by Quinn Murphy and Jacqueline Bush, who can be booked by Timothy Priano at 212-935-5996
